This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a good working relationship with judges, court personnel, attorneys, jurors and the public and is bound by rigid guidelines to keep all jurors secure for trials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. 
   
Setup courtroom.
 
Check-in jurors.
 
Keep jurors assembled & guide them through court
 

Be the liaison between the courtroom work group and the jurors

Help with jurors lunch and breaks
 
Maintain a good working relationship with the judges, court personnel, jurors and the public.
 
Knowledge of courtroom procedures.
 
Keep jurors secure and handle all their needs.
 
Ensure courtroom proceedings are followed as to not cause a mistrial.
 
Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

Education and/or Experience 
High school diploma or equivalent and zero to six months of relevant prior experience.  Proven experience in legal terminology.

This position has authority to make decisions that are within detailed procedures and protocols and under close supervision. These decisions directly impact performance in the job and/or the work unit within the department and information is provided to others for decision making.

In relation to established procedures, protocols and policies of the County, the complexity of this job is low and challenges are relatively minimal.
