The Division of Hematology/Oncology is searching for a Post Doc Associate. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and 2 years of experience working in a laboratory. Candidates will understand the pathophysiology of hematologic diseases such as bone marrow failure and leukemia. The lab uses multi-disciplinary approaches including genetics, genomics, molecular immunology, and biochemistry to study the underlying mechanisms by which normal and abnormal hematopoiesis are regulated. The candidate will define the molecular and functional collaboration between a major cell signaling Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway and immunometabolic regulation in HSC 2) Targeting stem cell-niche interactions for improved therapy for patients with bone marrow failure and leukemia 3) Study a novel interplay between DNA damage response/repair in FA leukemogenesis; 4) study on the systemic immune effects of persistent DNA damage using mouse and human models of DNA repair deficiency and again 5) Mechanistic and functional elucidation of the role of a novel paracrine Wnt5a-Prox1 signaling axis we recently discovered in regulating HSC regeneration under conditions of injury and aging.
