Job Description
The University of Missouri – St. Louis, a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Head Athletic Trainer. This is a 12-month full time benefited position.
General Summary: In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, administer the progress and success of the sports medicine program within the guidelines of the NCAA Division II, the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for 19 intercollegiate sponsored sports. This will include injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, treatment and rehabilitation, and educational programs for all student-athletes. * Administrative duties of the athletic training room, budget preparation and adherence, athletic training scheduling and coverage at all games and practices, supervision of assistant trainer and interns. * Special emphasis will be on creating and maintaining an atmosphere of student welfare and a high standard of quality of care, documentation of medical records through the university's medical record provider (Healthy Roster), working with team physicians and the oversight of all insurance and concussion related needs as they pertain to risk management and the University of Missouri system. * This position is part of the department's management team and will be responsible for goal setting, motivation of coaches and staff, and support of coach's philosophies and practices.
- Salary range is $55K-$60K.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
- Must be ATA Certified and eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri, 5 years of professional experience, 3 years of collegiate experienced required. Masters degree preferred.
- Additional therapeutic certifications strongly preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules and procedures is required.

University Title: Certified Athletic Trainer
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Masters plus three years of successful college coaching
