POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position has a major responsibility to develop and administer a comprehensive program of intramural sport activities designed to meet the diverse needs of the University community, manage the operation and maintenance of the Intramural Sports Office and the Reckord Armory, and administer a summer social sports program to serve the local community.
A breakdown of responsibilities include: Program Planning, Leadership and Administration (35%), Student Staff Training and Supervision (20%), Reckord Armory Gym Management, Maintenance, and Special Events (20%), Full-Time Staff Supervision (15%), and other related duties (10%). Some evening and weekend work required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years experience in collegiate or community recreation sports programs (OR Master’s degree and 5 years experience in collegiate or community recreation sports programs) Experience scheduling and administering sport tournaments At least 2 years of experience supervising and training others Experience using IMLeagues or other sport scheduling software/web-based software applications Strong communication and customer service skills Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through programming, mentoring, or training Demonstrated commitment to student development through programming, mentoring, or training Willing to commit to fingerprinting and criminal background check Possess (or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date) and maintain American Red Cross CPR for the Professional rescuer/AED/First Aid certification Possess (or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date) and maintain American Red Cross Instructor Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising college student personnel.
- Experience officiating team sports.
- Experience training sports officials.
- Experience using facility scheduling software (EMS).
- Facility event management experience.
- Experience with facility maintenance and/or facility-related project management.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience, the range is $93,000 - $103,000.
