Job Summary:
The Enterprise Transformation Architect is responsible for leading the transformation and technology road mapping needed to modernize our aging systems and develop new systems on a modern stack. This senior role requires designing a sustainable technology ecosystem that addresses our technical debt and coaching existing staff in new technologies and software development practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will lead and mentor the existing IT staff.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead the transformation and technology road mapping required to modernize aging systems and develop new systems on a modern stack.
- Design a sustainable technology ecosystem that addresses technical debt.
- Collaborate with technology leaders to map out all necessary technological improvements.
- Coach existing staff in new technologies and software development practices.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the IT function and improve efficiency.
- Ensure the continuity of IT operations during the transformation process.
- Provide technical leadership and direction in the implementation of new technologies.
- Design and code solutions as needed to support transformation efforts.
- Prepare and present reports on the progress of the transformation to executive leadership.
- Establish and lead an architecture review board
- Establish an ideation and incubation function to prove out new technology patterns and conduct proof of concepts
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture and technology transformation.
- Strong understanding of modern technology stacks and software development practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring IT staff.
- Effective communication skills.
- Sense of urgency, accountability, and effective communication.
- Proficiency in modern software development stacks including:
- Front-End Technologies: React.js, Angular, Vue.js
- Back-End Technologies: Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, .NET Core
- Database Technologies: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra), Cloud Databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
- Skills and experience with legacy technologies and on-premise solutions including: C#, C++, VB6
- Redesign of large-scale client-server applications to modern design patterns.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in an enterprise architecture role.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technology transformation initiatives.
- Strong coding skills and hands-on experience with both modern and legacy technology stacks.
- TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Certification
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (AWS)
- Travel required approximately one week per month to spend time on-site and with resources in the field.
