Assistant Director of Advancement Initiatives
Are you passionate about fostering philanthropic support and strengthening community relationships? Lehman College is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director to join our dynamic team in advancing the mission of higher education.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Advancement Initiatives, the Assistant Director of Advancement Initiatives plays a pivotal role in establishing a robust foundation of philanthropic support from various stakeholders including faculty, staff, alumni, friends, business partners, and community members. Building strong relationships with the Herbert H. Lehman College Foundation Board of Directors, Alumni Engagement Office, and other key members of the Institutional Advancement Division is crucial. The Assistant Director collaborates internally and externally to enhance philanthropic relationships and promote a culture of giving within the Lehman College community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Craft compelling and donor-centric content for fundraising materials, including appeals, proposals, newsletters, websites, and social media, in collaboration with the Communications and Marketing division.
* Cultivate relationships with individuals, prospects, and partners through research, outreach efforts, and personalized stewardship.
* Coordinate logistics for events and meetings related to Institutional Advancement/Foundation, ensuring seamless execution.
* Achieve proficiency in Blackbaud for development functions.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required:
* Bachelor's degree and experience in development, alumni relations, marketing, communications, or a related field.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
* Strong writing and copy-editing abilities.
* Proven ability to manage long-term projects and meet deadlines.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
* Commitment to advancing the mission of Lehman College.
