Description:
  • POSITION PURPOSE
    • Under the supervision of the Radiology Department Head, supervises the accomplishment of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services; assists with management responsibilities including, but not limited to, payroll, budget, equipment, purchase, maintenance and repair, QA/QC, employee recruitment, retention, counseling, discipline and inventory. Performs routine nuclear medicine procedures as necessary.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    • Bachelors Degree in: Nuclear Medicine and/or equivalent training or experience
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • 3 to 5 years
  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (N.M.T.C.B.) certification or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, Nuclear Medicine (A.R.R.T.- N.M.) certification required.
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (N.M.T.C.B.)-PET certification required.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
    • Minimum of three (3) years experience as technologist with progressive responsibilities in supervision.
    • Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language fluently.
  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Staffs Nuclear Medicine as necessary, must meet Nuclear Medicine Technologist essential job functions.
    • Responsible for supervision Nuclear Medicine personnel. Duties include scheduling, training, and evaluation of personnel.
    • Develops and reviews department policies and procedures, monitors and evaluates department budget, evaluates quality assurance and assures department complies with licensing requirements.
    • Identifies, develops and implements new services to meet needs of system and patients.
    • Assures prompt and accurate results reporting and billing.
    • Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
    • Administers medications in a timely manner, safely and in accordance with policy and procedure.
