As a proud advocate for manufacturing in the U.S.A., Kenall has become a champion in developing advanced lighting solutions, systems and controls for high abuse, transportation, security detention, and sealed enclosure for healthcare, cleanroom, containment and food processing environments.  Kenall has an opportunity available in our Customer Service Department for a Customer Account Representative.
The Customer Account Representative is responsible for managing all territory sales projects from inquiry through order fulfillment.  They act as a liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Sales on projects.  Additional responsibilities include the following:
  • Receive, review initial inquiries on project opportunities and assist in setting up specifications for best corporate and customer solution.  Gather and clarify all information needed to precisely define the project (i.e. product needed, timetable, special requirements and communication of factory proposals and presentations)
  • Prepare concise information to forward to Engineering and Quotations for set-up and quoting according to the instructions of the Regional Sales Manager and company policy 
  • Gather and communicate information regarding special factory requirements to prevent problems and to facilitate speedy resolutions should they arise.  Bring inconsistent or non-conforming practices to the attention of executive management
  • Lead large project team in brainstorming to create a means to maintain value while reducing costs.  Work with Purchasing to negotiate special project related pricing, and monitor long lead time items.  Follow up to be certain those concessions are realized.  Work with customer and factory to assure there is concise communication for delivery and projects do not become significantly late
  • Work with customers to gather all job documentation required at the earliest date to allow for order entry, production planning, and on-time deliveries.  Work to move projects ahead or back depending upon factory capacity
  • Coordinates non-project HFR follow-up agent notifications and monthly reporting
  • Communicates with the agent via phone and fax regarding order clarification and HFR release. Expedite orders and any necessary paperwork, as needed
  • Processes and enters all orders within Territory assist others as time allows
  • Assists Director of Sales Support and Service in Customer Service order management
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience related to Customer Account management, preferably in manufacturing
  • Lighting industry or electrical industry experience is a plus
  • Ability to analyze, interpret business data and recommend effective business strategies
  • Skills in re-engineering operations, implementing policy and procedures
  • Financial analysis, reporting and budgeting skills experience
  • Excellent communication skills; demonstrates strong grammatical use of the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to display strong customer service skills
  • Must be professional in appearance and attitude and possess the ability to work in a professional manner with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • High level of self-initiative and dependability
