Performs echocardiograms and teaches and instructs technicians and physicians in interpreting and diagnosing echocardiograms. Also performs a variety of non-invasive tests that includes, but not limited to, stress tests, EKG's, Signal Averaging, Holter Monitoring, Event Monitoring and Pacemaker clinic. Prepares test results including transcriptions, copying, filing, and performs other related duties as needed.

Education: High School or equivalent (GED)
Experience Required: 1-3 years
Registered or registry eligible as a Cardiac Sonographer required.
Demonstrated proficiency in arrhythmia recognition and EKG course.
Completion of EKG recognition class.
Training as a Medical Assistant or LPN is desirable.
Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
Demonstrated proficiency in performing Echocardiograms is preferred.
Knowledge of basic terminology and clerical functions related to scheduling, order entry, record keeping and interaction with patients.
Must be able to demonstrate competence with all associated equipment used.
Demonstrate knowledge in the anatomy and physiology of the heart.
